Hi, well, work & school is being hard this days, that’s one of the reasons I’m not around for long periods of time. How are you??

Lindsay Verde replies: "I’m just recovering from a nasty case of the flu right now ... and hoping that the break from elfwood will have finally revived my muses *fingers crossed*"

Oh my! I’m glad you’re feeling better. Several of my friends and co-workers have been down recently with the flu and each and every one of them says the same thing, that they never had a flu like this one. Not only are the symptoms worse, but it lasts longer. Scary stuff!

I do have some good news.. I might finally have a house! If all goes well, I will be closing the deal on a cute townhouse in my favorite neighborhood by the end of this month. Finally!!!!

It’s so funny. When I start to think about how I’m going to arrange my furniture, or decorate, the first thought that comes to mind is, where am I going to set up my art area? *lol*

Anyhoo, I’ll see about sending some pics in an email once I’m settled. It will be fun to show the "before" pics so that I can send the "after" pics later. I have some big ideas for bold colors, creative builds and funky embellishments. Woo hoo!

Lindsay Verde replies: "Yeah, I’ve never had a flu that felt like this one ... makes me wonder if I’ve only ever had colds before this. Normally I’m up and about after 3 days, this one knocked me out flat for twice as long. I had a fever for 6 days above 100 degrees. Though the one thing that was nice was that I didn’t get the usual sore throat, runny nose, and eyes. It was all in my chest. But I got very achey and sore, compounded from previous injuries.

Yay on a house! I really hope that it goes through for you! Aw, setting up a new home, that’s exciting! I’m looking forward to when I get a place of my own and being able to get furniture for it and set it up the way I want, etc. And a true artist must have the perfect area to work . I look forward to seeing some pictures."

And to answer your question, we don’t get much of a winter down here lol

Lindsay Verde replies: "Very good. About to go for the plunge with NaNoWriMo, so I might not be around elfwood as much during november as I’m trying to keep away from distractions.

Haha, true, true. But you still get a "winter" it’s just not the traditionally thought winter ."

I am thrilled to see some new work! I shall commence reading, forthwith!

By the way, I should be moving in the next 2-3 weeks, so bear with me if I "disappear" for a while. The best part is that once I’m finally settled life can get back to normal. Yipee!

Lindsay Verde replies: "Yay! I take it you got the house then? That’s wonderful to hear! And I’m sure you’re relieved to see the light at the end of the tunnel for returning back to a routine that allows drawing, writing, and all the other things you love and enjoy to do in your spare time.

Never fear ... I shall probably be disappearing from elfwood for the majority of november ... have to stay away from distracting things while NaNoWriMo is on. But the good news is the story I’ve chosen to work on is fantasy, so I’ll be able to post it either as I go, or, if it needs too much editing, after I’m finished nano. I’ve decided to use The Last Ignithian as my piece for Nano. So excited! I’m definitely going to get to 50k this year! Whoo! Oh and there’s a piece on my other works shelf that will be moving over to my main shelf once I get up to the part where the fantasy elements become apparent ."

Ooo! I didn’t see the Other Works tab! More reading goodness! Yay!!!!

With "dragon" in the title, I’d say the fantasy element is pretty apparent. Hmmm.

Edited to add: Your Nano hiatus for November should give me a good chance to catch up on my reading. Happy writing!!!!

Lindsay Verde replies: "*Grins* Hopefully I’m almost done the first chapter and will be able to post it up in all of its un-edited glory later on today. I fear I probably won’t be able to stay entirely away from elfwood. At least I shall reply to comments. It gives me a nice break from wracking my brain for words.

Heh heh yeah it’s a bit of a give away but it’ll become obvious in the next couple of chapters ... I think.

hey Lindsay, i know your busy with your writings and stuff so i wont stay long but i saw that you where doing the NaNoWriMo i didnt know what it was until a friend of mine said something about it the other day, anyway it sounds really good for a writer to do, so good luck with it all. elf.w should do something for writers like they have done for artists with the comps!!

Lindsay Verde replies: "Never too busy to pop on and say hi back! Well, no one ever said I wasn’t a good procrastinator, lol.

Yeah, I’m enjoying nano, when I’m not pulling out my hair trying to make myself focus, lol. But it’s good, it forces me to focus on one piece. Nothing makes me get work done better than a deadline and I am determined to make the 50k this year.

There are some writers on elfwood who start groups for writing challenges. One such is the Herscher Project, of which I am a part of. That’s where An Ocean of Memories and a number of other works that aren’t up on my shelf at the moment came from. And I also started a writing group that has been inactive for the past while due to Uni, at the time. I may consider reviving it but then this way I don’t encourage my over-active muses to try and think up more stories if I don’t."

Well, speaking of another masquerade piece I still have one more out of 3 to do so u never know that one could be in colour. Thanx.
